Job Description

We seek an Engineering Manager to establish and lead our new Colorado Springs outpost, a location offering access to a vibrant, high-quality lifestyle. This role combines engineering design and technical supervision with direct execution of automation programming tasks, ensuring the candidate remains technically engaged and achieves a 75% billable target. The Engineering Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and play a key role in shaping NeoMatrix’s growth in the Colorado region, providing both technical leadership and hands-on support in automation, MES, and SCADA programming.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering design, technical execution, and deliverables for projects
  • Supervise and guide the engineering team, providing expertise in automation, MES, and SCADA systems, specifically working with Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform and Allen-Bradley’s Studio5000 software
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and project-specific engineering reviews to ensure quality and adherence to NeoMatrix standards
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Project Management teams to define and meet technical and business objectives
  • Ensure on-time, within-scope, and high-quality project delivery with an eye to technical feasibility and project scope
  • Monitor and enhance engineering efficiency, aiming to deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate technical resources and manage vendor relationships for project success
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients, addressing technical challenges and opportunities
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, supporting professional growth and technical acumen
  • Adhere to existing and establish new technical processes, protocols, and documentation best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
  • Proven experience in engineering design, control systems, or automation
  • At least 5 years of experience with Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform and Allen-Bradley’s Studio5000 software.
  • At least 3 years of experience in engineering management with a focus on technical and team oversight
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical supervision skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with engineering software tools
  • Demonstrated experience in project scheduling, resource allocation, and technical task assignment
  • Excellent communication skills, both client-facing and internal
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet the technical demands of high-stakes projects

Additional Experience/Qualifications

  • Ignition Core or Gold certification
  • Familiarity with Smartsheets or similar project management tools is a plus
